This Code of Ethics and Disclaimer covers me, Echo M Yeoman, as an herbalist, aromatherapist, and holistic wellness consultant and as the sole owner of YeoDragon Creations and Wellness, LLC.

 

I will conduct my consultations with compassionate care and mindfulness of the client’s wellness needs with courtesy, respect, dignity, discretion, tact and empathy in all associations with all clients. I will not knowingly discriminate against any client on the basis of their religious, spiritual, political, or social views and pledge to give the best care possible regardless of race, colour, creed, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, economic or social status. With this pledge, I also have the right to refuse to accept an individual as a client for personal reasons, professional reasons, or any limitations, with both of our best interests in mind. I recognize that all clients have individual needs; I respect and encourage the client’s right to make informed choices regarding their own health care. I acknowledge the limits of my scope of practice and will refer to other professionals when appropriate. With the request and written permission of each client, I would cooperate with other health care professionals for the benefit and well-being of the client. I will hold all personal information gathered on forms and during consultations in strict confidence unless legally required to do otherwise or directed by the client in writing. In the rare event that it is needed, I will ask the client’s permission before engaging in any form of practice that requires physical contact. I refrain from unscrupulous and/or exploitative behavior toward any client. I will not use my professional position to seek personal encounters with clients, not limited to sexually. Were it to appear that a client is making sexual advances or seeking a personal encounter, it is my duty to discourage the client and to clarify this professional relationship. I strive to obtain, use, and prepare herbs, essential oils, and flower essences of the highest quality, which have been properly identified and prepared. I strive to be well informed and ensure that all components of my botanical medicines used are grown and harvested using sustainable and ethical methods. I shall honour the Earth and strive to utilize ingredients that also honor the Earth. I shall accurately represent my qualifications and provide full disclosure of my credentials upon request. l respect other holistic, allopathic, and energy working practitioners of other disciplines, including but not limited to refraining from criticizing other health professionals in public or to their clients, and soliciting clients from other health professionals. I am encouraged to exchange, obtain, and pass on ideas and information with other holistic wellness consultants, herbalists, and aromatherapists for the purpose of preserving and enhancing understanding and knowledge within our field.  When representing my profession, I will endeavour to conduct myself in an appropriate and positive manner that contributes to the awareness of herbalism, aromatherapy, and holistic wellness.

 

I am not a licensed healthcare provider, and I do not prescribe, diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any health conditions. The botanical and spiritual medicines that I offer do not treat, prevent, or cure any health conditions. I only propose to offer information on how to maximize the body’s ability to heal. My statements, products, and services are not monitored by the FDA.  In good faith, I make suggestions based upon the history given by the client.The client is ultimately responsible for their choices, I cannot predict how they might react to a suggested remedy. I am not liable for side effects, adverse reactions, or interactions with medications or other supplements taken by the client. A client who is pregnant, nursing, or has medical conditions are advised to consult with their medical provider.
